KENPO KARATE
I started my training in the martial arts
in the year 1956, in Pasadena California at Ed's first school. It was a
small space rented in another building. Later we moved to a bigger building
that was his primary school until he built his own studio. I trained in
the group classes there and privately with Ed, receiving my first, second,
and third degree black belts from Mr. Parker. After receiving my first black
belt, I opened a Kenpo school in Pomona California, and within the year,
my school became an Ed Parker franchise school.

ABOUT PHELAN SELF DEFENSE (Western States Martial Arts)
Located in the high desert west of Victorville Ca, Phelan Self Defense teaches Ed Parkers Kenpo Karate, Original LucayLucay Kali Jeet Kune Do, a long with Chinese Kick Boxing, Modified Wing Chun Gung Fu and Filipino Escrima. Students at Phelan Self Defense have the opportunity to train directly with Jerry Meyers, who is a distinguished and personable martial artist. Besides being a first generation black belt under Ed Parker in Kenpo Karate, Mr. Meyers has trained under Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto at Bruce Lees Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute in Los Angeles, Chinatown.

LOCAL SERVICES
Our classes in LucayLucay Kali/Jeet Kune Do are Tuesday from 7:00 until 8:00 pm and on Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
For these classes alone, it is $55.00 per month payable on the same day of each month.
