In
1967, I started my training with Bruce Lee in Jeet Kune Do in
Los Angeles at the Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute in Chinatown, California.
Some of the other students who also trained there are this time
were Steve Golden, Pete Jacobs, Jerry Poteet, and Dan Lee.
My
training was cut short in Chinatown do to marital and financial
problems, so my next training in Jeet Kune Do was in Dan Inasanto's
famous back yard group. Some of the people I trained with during
this period are, Dan Lee, Jerry Poteet, Chris Kent, Tim Tackett,
and Ted LucayLucay. I trained off and on for another year when
the Back Yard Group became the Kali Academy, and at both of these
locations I was in the senior or J.K.D.(Jeet Kune Do) class.
Further
training was done privately with Jerry Poteet in the modified
Wing Chun aspect of Jeet Kune Do that Jerry's so good at. I also
worked privately with the well known expert in J.K.D., Tim Tackett.

Ted
LucayLucay was the first student to graduate under Dan Inasanto
from the Kali Academy in both Kali and Jeet Kune Do. Ted received
his certification in both these arts but he was also certified
an instructor by Leo Giron in Arnis, Angel Cabeles in Serrada
and by Ben Largusa in the Villabrille-Largusa Kali system.
Ted
was my J.K.D Brother in Dans back yard group and I was honored
when he asked me to become an apprentice Instructor in LucayLucay
Kali Jeet Kune Do. I have since been promoted to Associate Instructor
by Guro Greg Allen one of the two senior Instructors in the LucayLucay
Kali Jeet Kune Do system.
